True Friend- Vintage Photo of Grandmother

DSC_0009

I fussy cut the flowers above months ago for some layout, but I never ended up using them for that layout, so instead these flowers were sitting in my drawer forever. Honestly, big floral patterns are always intimidating to me. I don’t know how to use the pretty paper with a photo without taking away from either photo or design of paper. This can’t just be me, right??

I was reading in passing on what of the scrapbook challenge blogs to use a “pretty” you’d been hoarding and finally just use it. This was what I decided to use.

I just added some lace ribbon that I had in an old spool and a few random scarp pieces of paper for the rest of the elements in here. I decided a vintage photo of my grandmother when she was in her teens was the nicest photo I had on hand to use this design with. I think it represents her free spirit and lovely soul well too. <3
